How to Manage Your Website

A simple guide to updating your photos and content

1 Log In to AWS

  1. Go to aws.amazon.com/console
  2. Click Sign In to the Console (top right)
  3. Select IAM user
  4. Enter your Account ID, Username, and Password (these were provided to you)
  5. Click Sign in

Your login details should include:

Account ID (12-digit number)

IAM Username

Password

2 Find Your Website's Storage

  1. Once logged in, look for the search bar at the top of the page
  2. Type S3 and click on S3 in the results
  3. You'll see a list of "buckets" (storage folders). Find the one with your website's name
  4. Click on your bucket name to open it

Your bucket name is usually your website address:

yourwebsite.com

3 Upload Photos

To add photos to your slideshow:

  1. Inside your bucket, click on the photos folder to open it
  2. Click the orange Upload button
  3. Click Add files and select photos from your computer
    Or simply drag and drop photos into the upload area
  4. Scroll down and click the orange Upload button at the bottom
  5. Wait for the upload to complete, then click Close
Tip: Your photos will automatically appear in the slideshow! Just refresh your website after uploading. It may take a few minutes for changes to appear.
Photo tips:
  • Supported formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP
  • Landscape (horizontal) photos work best
  • Photos display in alphabetical order by filename

4 Delete Photos

  1. Navigate to the photos folder in your bucket
  2. Check the box next to the photo(s) you want to remove
  3. Click the Delete button that appears
  4. Type permanently delete to confirm
  5. Click the orange Delete objects button
Warning: Deleted photos cannot be recovered. Make sure you have a backup copy on your computer if you might want them later.

5 Upload Other Files

You can add any files to your website (PDFs, documents, additional web pages):

  1. Go to the main level of your bucket (not inside the photos folder)
  2. Click Upload
  3. Add your files and click Upload

Your files will be available at:

https://yourwebsite.com/filename.pdf

Troubleshooting

Changes not appearing?

Your website uses caching to load faster. Changes may take 5-10 minutes to appear. Try refreshing your browser or waiting a bit longer.

Can't find your bucket?

Make sure you're logged into the correct AWS account. The Account ID should match what was provided to you.

"Access Denied" errors?

You can only access your own website's bucket. If you see other buckets listed, make sure you're clicking on the correct one.
